The Cummins heater grid is a restrictive unit and limits performance of the Cummins 5.9L engine by restricting airflow.

The 1998.5 to 2007 Dodge Ram trucks powered by the 5.9L Cummins do not use glow plugs to start the engine.

These 5.9L Cummins turbo diesels are equipped with a restrictive heater grid that is located directly between the air horn and intake manifold.

The Cummins 5.9L heater grid heats incoming air on start up to ensure quick starting, especially in cold weather.
